The influences of lateral ground-tilting on channel morphology and alluvial architecture [PDF]
This thesis characterises and quantifies the influence of lateral ground-tilting on rivers in terms of: i) channel planform changes and migration style, ii) temporal and spatial patterns of channel movement, and, iii) the preserved alluvial architecture

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Determining lateral river channel activity with respect to safety of pipeline crossings
When oil and gas pipelines cross rivers they are often buried in the groundbeneath the floodplain and river bed. There is a risk that river will expose the pipe bylateral bank erosion, as well as bed erosion, and then there is a risk that the pipe ...

In vivo image of glial cells for Fig 6A (green channel)
This image of glial cells deep in the cortex of a live GFAP-GFP mouse was acquired through an implanted GRIN lens using a multiphoton microscope. We believe this is one of the first in vivo images of glial cells this deep in the brain in the lower layers

Evaluating the involvement of autolysosomes in the nuclear translocation of fluorescent proteins
Endogenously expressed fluorescent proteins can be degraded by autophagy and transported to cell nuclei via the nuclear pore complex. But in some cell lines, for example, HeLa cells which are positive for immunoreactivity of a receptor ligand, such as UCN I, in cell nuclei, fusion of autolysosome with the nuclear envelope is involved in the nuclear ...

IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.
