Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Mentha aquatic L Extract as the Reducing Agent [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Kerman University of Medical Sciences, 2017
Background: Developing effective methods for the synthesis of bio-compatible and non-toxic nanoparticles is the main goal of nanotechnology. In the most chemical methods, a chemical reducing agent is used to reduce metal ions.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Construction of acenaphthylenes via C−H activation-based tandem penta- and hexaannulation reactions

open access: yesNature Communications
Acenaphthylene-containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (AN-PAHs) are noteworthy structural motifs for organic functional materials due to their non-alternant electronic structure, which increases electron affinity.

Laccase bio-grafting a versatile modification tool from green chemistry technologies

open access: yes, 2012
Today more than 99% of plastics are petroleum-based because of availability and cost of the raw material. The durability of these disposed plastics contributes to the environmental problems as waste and their persistence in the environment causes ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Potassium fertilizer via hydrothermal alteration of K-feldspar ore

open access: yes, 2017
Fertilizers ensure the necessary agricultural yields to feed an increasing world population. Augmenting fertilizer use conflicts with environmental concerns such as eutrophication and soil pollution, as well as with limited availability of fertilizers in

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
