Continuous-flow photo-induced decarboxylative annulative access to fused imidazole derivatives via a microreactor containing immobilized ruthenium

open access: yes, 2020
Visible-light-driven continuous-flow decarboxylative annulation was achieved and used along with a microreactor containing immobilized ruthenium catalyst to construct valuable fused imidazole derivatives with high yields under an open atmosphere. Notably,

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Green chemistry applied in water treatment technology

open access: yes, 2018
Danas milijuni ljudi u velikim dijelovima svijeta nemaju pristup vodama da zadovolje svoje osnovne potrebe. Industrijski postupci koriste značajnu količinu vode koja zahtijeva obradu prije ispuštanja u površinske vode.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Green Chemistry and Technology for Sustainable Development

open access: yesInternational Journal of Scientific Research in Science and Technology
Green chemistry is one of the most explored topics these days. Major research on green chemistry aims to reduce or eradicate the production of harmful bi-products and maximizing the desired product in an eco-friendly way. Green chemistry is required to minimize the harm of nature by anthropogenic materials and the processes applied to generate them ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated
