Unveiling the Potential of Metal and Non‐Metal Modified Porous Carbon for the Electrochemical Reduction of CO2

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Earth‐abundant metal‐ and non‐metal‐modified porous carbons offer a highly tunable platform for electrochemical CO2 reduction. This review shows how electronic interactions, active‐site coordination, pore architecture, and cooperative catalytic effects jointly govern intermediate stabilization, product selectivity, and device‐relevant CO2RR performance.

Interfacial Electronic Coupling in the GeSe2/Volcanic‐Rock–Like Carbon Framework Activates Reversible Intermediate Conversion for High‐Rate Sodium Storage

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A combined sol–gel/solid‐state approach was developed to integrate GeSe2 with a “volcanic‐rock”–like carbon framework (C). C incorporation reactivates the otherwise irreversible intermediates Na2Ge2Se5 and Na2GeSe3, thereby suppressing irreversible Na+ consumption.

Bio‐Inspired Carbon Spheres Enable Active Sites Multiscale‐Anchoring and Pre‐Reduction

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Combining the wet‐spinning technique with a “bionic design” concept, a bio‐inspired carbon sphere support with internal finger‐shaped pores and external craquelure structures is designed and constructed, and the corresponding carbon sphere reactor is fabricated through the multiscale anchoring and the pre‐reduced promoting, and verified for application
