Performance and emission analysis of waste cooking oil as green diesel in 4S diesel engine
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020The objective was to study the emissions and performance characteristics of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil and Transesterified Biodiesel (Fatty Acid Methyl Esters) when used as fuel in a vertical, single cylinder, Kirloskar DI 4-stroke diesel engine of 4.3 kW and compression ratio of 17.5:1 and constant speed of 1500 rpm.

Comparative analysis of biodiesel versus green diesel
WIREs Energy and Environment, 2013The use of biofuels is becoming more and more common because of both environmental and economical concerns. Several attempts have been made for the substitution of fossil fuels with other alternative fuels. An important feedstock for the production of biofuels fully adapted to modern engine technology is ester molecules derived from refined or crude ...

Evaluating the efficiency of green vehicles and diesel vehicles
International Journal of Green Energy, 2016ABSTRACTOne of the major interests of governments in the area of environmental protection is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and air pollutants’ emissions (HC, CO, NOx, PM, and SOx) from vehicles. This paper aims at evaluating the efficiency of green and diesel vehicles. Two hundred fifty vehicles were selected for comparison study.

Unlocking pilot-scale green diesel production from microalgae
Journal of Environmental ManagementMicroalgae have emerged as a promising source of biomass to produce renewable biofuels due to their ability to synthesize high-energy density compounds of commercial interest. This study proposes an approach for pilot-scale oil extraction, purification by fractional distillation, hydrocarbon characterization by gas chromatography coupled to mass ...

Experimental work has been performed to characterized diesel spray combustion in an optically accessible constant-volume combustion vessel. A single-hole diesel injector with nozzle diameter of 100 um has been used for testing. Bulk gas temperature and density with the combustion vessel has been prepared at specified diesel engine condition (900 K, 23 ...
