Technical Feasibility Study of Autonomous Field Robot‐Based on‐the‐go Assessment of Soil Nutrients Using Ion‐Sensitive Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Autonomous field robots equipped with ISFET‐based sensors enable rapid, spatially resolved soil nutrient analysis directly in the field. An automated system based on the BoniRob platform is presented for standardized on‐site extraction and measurement of key macronutrients and soil pH.

WorMa: An Undulatory Robot With Center of Mass Regulation via Internal Fluid Redistribution for Amphibious Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
WorMa is an amphibious undulatory robot that uses Center of Mass redistribution as the sole terrain adaptation mechanism. This mechanism is based on internal fluid mass redistribution through a pump‐driven latex balloon system that creates three profiles: head‐biased, balanced, and tail‐biased.

UC Food Waste: A Multimodal Robotic Perception Dataset for Robust Contaminant Detection in Complex Biowaste Scenes

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A balanced multimodal food‐waste dataset and a novel Split Spatial‐Spectral Attention fusion framework are presented for robotic contaminant detection. Separate processing of RGB, thermal, and multispectral inputs preserves subtle material signatures before feature integration, reducing modality interference and improving classification and ...

Green Supply Chain Management

2021
Based on existing structures of sites and capacities, new mathematical models for hierarchical scheduling of operations in generic multi-stage networks are developed in the book Scheduling in Green Supply Chain Management: A Mixed-Integer Approach. This chapter deals with the peculiarities of green supply chain management, especially its origins and ...

Green Supply Chain Management

2020
In this chapter, we discuss green practices in supply chain management. First, we analyze green corridors, and then green network design problems. For both these problems, we present mathematical optimization models with two objectives: one related to transportation costs and the other to the protection of the environment.

Review of green supply chain management

International Journal of Networking and Virtual Organisations, 2013
Today, it is widely recognised that green supply chain management GSCM is essential for organisations to survive and prosper in the global market and networked economy, as a kind of modern management mode which takes environmental impact and resource efficiency into a comprehensive consideration within the entire supply chain.

‘Green' Supply Chain Management

2016
Operational practices of ‘green' supply chain processes within as well as across the firm boundaries are strongly linked with the firm performance. However, the desire for such practices is governed by external and/or internal factors. The challenge, therefore, for supply chain and operations managers is to design and develop an operations strategy ...
