Magnetic‐Field Control of Surface States in CoFe2O4 Thin Films for Nitrate Electroreduction to Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐assisted CVD of heterometallic single‐source precursors modulates thin‐film surface electronic structure and interfacial charge transfer. Field‐grown (Cobalt ferrite‐1T)CF‐1T films exhibit stabilized electronic states, lower kinetic barriers, and markedly enhanced nitrate‐to‐ammonia electrocatalysis versus (Cobalt ferrite‐0T) CF‐0T ...

Non-C02 greenhouse gases; all gases count [PDF]

open access: yes
Under the Kyoto Protocol, a group of countries commit themselves to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases to some 5% below the 1990 level. Countries can decide to spread their reduction commitment over several gases to lower compliance costs ...

An Analysis of Local Climate Effects : a Case Study of the Lviv International Airport

open access: yesStudia Periegetica, 2017
The effect of aircraft emissions on the global climate is a serious long-term environmental issue faced by the aviation industry. As the number of passengers grows, so does the use of jet fuel and the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG).

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Pareto Optimality in the Extraction of Fossil Fuels and the Greenhouse Effect: A Note [PDF]

open access: yes
This note generalizes the Solow-Stiglitz efficiency condition for natural resources to the problem of fossil fuel extraction with a greenhouse effect. The generalized optimality condition suggests that the greenhouse effect implies overextraction in the ...

Ratiometric Mycotoxin Detection in Living Plants With Dual‐Emissive Nanosensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A minimally invasive microneedle patch integrates carbon dot‐embedded metal–organic frameworks as nanosensors to detect a key fungal toxin in living plants. The nanosensor produces a ratiometric fluorescence signal that enables early, non‐destructive diagnosis of fungal infection before visible symptoms, offering a new biomaterials‐based strategy for ...
