Comparative Analysis of Sub-Synchronous Oscillations With Various Grid-Forming Control Schemes Under Series-Compensated Line

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper presents a comparative study of various grid-forming control strategies under different series compensation levels to suggest the optimal control scheme for compensated lines. Series compensation is a technique used to insert a fixed capacitor

Unraveling MXene Oxidation Mechanisms Under Realistic Gas Environments by In Situ Gas‐Cell TEM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of MXene degradation reveals a fundamental oxidation mechanism under oxygen and moisture environments. Using in situ gas‐cell electron microscopy, this study demonstrates that oxygen degradation drives a thermodynamically controlled high‐temperature transformation into mixed rutile/anatase phases.

A Dual‐Functional Electrolyte Additive for Highly Reversible Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as a dual‐function additive for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. TBAB disrupts the hydrogen‐bond network of water while TBA+ adsorbs on Zn to improve interfacial wettability and regulate Zn2+ flux, resulting in suppressed dendrite growth and parasitic reactions. This synergy extended the lifespan of Zn|

Comparison of transient overvoltage suppression capability of grid-forming converter and synchronous condenser

open access: yesZhejiang dianli
When faults such as blocking and commutation failure occur in a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system, they can cause transient voltage fluctuations near the sending-side converter station and lead to the disconnection with power grid ...

Application of Ibuprofen Sodium Dihydrate for Thermochemical Energy Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ibuprofen sodium dihydrate is introduced as a durable organic salt hydrate for low‐temperature thermochemical energy storage, operating within 60°C–110°C with high energy density. At the material level, it delivers ∼99.9% cycling efficiency over 150 cycles without deliquescence, enabled by a dual energy‐storage mechanism coupling dehydration and phase ...

Modeling and Control of Grid-Forming Active Power Filters for Harmonic Suppression and Enhanced Power Quality

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Grid-forming converters (GFMCs) have gained significant attention for their functionality in grid voltage formation and grid-supportive services. However, managing harmonic distortions caused by nonlinear loads remains a critical challenge in weak grids.

Inner-Loop Controllers for Grid-Forming Converters

open access: yesApplied Sciences
This paper presents a detailed discrete-time implementation of an inner-loop voltage controller with a current limiter for grid-forming converters with an LC filter connected to the grid. The proposed approach utilizes a state feedback control law that depends on the states of both the converter and the internal model controller.
