Grid Computing Technology [PDF]

open access: yesDatabase Systems Journal, 2011
This paper presents the grid computing technology, the recent developments in this field. The idea of grid computing has its origins in the early development of computer networks and technologies involved, given that CPU cycle use "free" or "unused" was ...

Meta- and Grid-Computing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Since the origins of computer networks connecting spatially distributed resources, attempts have been made to create an infrastructure for distributing applications across regional, national and administrative boundaries. New paradigms have been introduced to support the programming and deployment of such computational networks, generally as extensions

Measurement-free preparation of grid states

open access: yesnpj Quantum Information, 2021
Quantum computing potentially offers exponential speed-ups over classical computing for certain tasks. A central, outstanding challenge to making quantum computing practical is to achieve fault tolerance, meaning that computations of any length or size ...

Longitudinal genome‐wide aneuploidy measurements in circulating cell‐free DNA to predict lack of benefit from pembrolizumab in patients with metastatic urothelial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Solution of Linear Systems by GMRES Method on Global Computing Platform

open access: yesJournal of Algorithms & Computational Technology, 2007
By making use of a very large amount of unexploited computing resources, grid computing achieves high throughput computing. We present a classical parallel method GMRES (m) to solve large sparse linear systems utilizing a lightweight GRID system XtremWeb.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
