Grids of Stellar Models and Frequencies with CLES + LOSC

open access: yes, 2008
We present a grid of stellar models, obtained with the CLES evolution code, following the specification of ESTA-Task1, and the corresponfing seismic properties, computed with the LOSC code.

Convolutional Neural Network for the Classification of the Control Mode of Grid-Connected Power Converters

open access: yesEnergies
With the integration of power converters into the power grid, it becomes crucial for the Transmission System Operator (TSO) to ascertain whether they are operating in Grid Forming or Grid Following modes.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Grid-Forming Inverters Review: Control, Stability, and the Next Stage With Artificial Intelligence and Digital Twins

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics
The rapid growth of Renewable Energy (RE) resources intensifies stability challenges due to their intermittency, especially in grids with low Short-Circuit Ratios (SCRs).

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Modeling and Control of Grid Forming Converters: A Systematic Review

open access: yesIEEE Access
In electrical power systems where the proportion of synchronous generators (SG) is gradually decreasing, grid-forming (GFM) converters need to be installed and controlled to meet all the system requirements that SGs have provided to date.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Simulation and application analysis of a hybrid energy storage station in a new power system

open access: yesGlobal Energy Interconnection
As the proportion of renewable energy infiltrating the power grid increases, suppressing its randomness and volatility, reducing its impact on the safe operation of the power grid, and improving the level of new energy consumption are increasingly ...

Understanding bio‐based polymers: A study of origins, properties, biodegradation and their impact on health and the environment

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review provides an overview of bio‐based polymer sources, their unique functional properties and their environmental impact, and addresses their role as sustainable alternatives. It discusses end‐of‐life options, including composting and anaerobic digestion for renewable energy.

A Superbubble Feedback Model for Galaxy Simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a new stellar feedback model that reproduces superbubbles. Superbubbles from clustered young stars evolve quite differently to individual supernovae and are substantially more efficient at generating gas motions.
