Cost dynamics of onshore wind energy in the context of China's carbon neutrality target
Wind energy has become one of the most important measures for China to achieve its carbon neutrality goal. The spatial and temporal evolvement of economic competitiveness for wind energy becomes an important concern in shaping the decarbonization pathway

ABSTRACT Objective To develop machine‐learning models that incorporate clinical information and radiomics features extracted from ultrasound images to distinguish uterine sarcomas from leiomyomas. Methods This retrospective, multicenter, pilot case–control study included 200 patients (100 with a uterine sarcoma and 100 with a usual‐type leiomyoma, i.e.

ABSTRACT Objective The primary aim of this study was to develop and internally validate ultrasound‐based radiomics models to discriminate between all types of benign and malignant adnexal masses. The secondary aim was to compare the performance of the radiomics models with that of the Assessment of Different NEoplasias in the adneXa (ADNEX) model ...

Emissions from electric vehicles depend on when they are charged and which power plants meet the electricity demand. We introduce a new metric, the critical emissions factors (CEFs), as the emissions intensity of electricity that needs to be achieved ...

Hierarchical Differentiable Fluid Simulation
We introduce a two‐step algorithm that significantly reduces memory usage for solving control problems using differentiable fluid simulation techniques: our method first optimizes for bulk forces at reduced resolution, then refines local details over sub‐domains while maintaining differentiability. In trading runtime for memory, it enables optimization

Geographic risks to functional groups of mammals and birds from habitat loss in Mexico
Abstract There is a need to quantify the impact of habitat loss due to anthropogenic factors on different aspects of biodiversity, such as functional trait diversity represented by functional groups (FGs). We developed a metric to assess the weighted risk of loss of habitat for 33 FGs of mammals and 36 FGs of birds in Mexico based on potential ...

This study evaluates how human activities impact margay (Leopardus wiedii) distribution in the Yucatán Peninsula, revealing habitat loss due to agriculture but also recolonization opportunities in abandoned lands. Species distribution models show range contraction (2010–2023), yet margays demonstrate resilience near disturbed habitats.

ABSTRACT The aim of the present study was to infer genetic (co) variance components and to estimate parity‐specific breeding values for the female fertility traits non‐return rate after 56 days, the interval from calving to first service and days open by applying random regression models on a time‐dependent parity scale. In this regard, we considered a

ABSTRACT The ability of ruminants to mobilise and restore body reserves (BR) over time, referred to as BR dynamics, is currently considered an interesting biological component to be included in breeding programs targeting enhanced BR resilience. However, genetic studies of proxies for BR levels and BRD remain scarce, particularly in small ruminants ...
