Convergent Reproductive Governance and the Normalization of Caesarean Birth in Northern Thailand

open access: yesMedical Anthropology Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract Caesarean section (C‐section) rates in Thailand have nearly doubled over the past two decades, a trend often attributed to women's preferences, convenience, or advanced maternal age. Drawing on ethnographic research in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, this article argues that such explanations are insufficient. I show that rising C‐section rates

Evaluation of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Pork Meat Cooked with Two Different Methods

open access: yesMolecules
During domestic grilling, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which include genotoxic and carcinogenic compounds, can be produced as a result of fat pyrolysis, leakage of cellular juices onto the heat source, and incomplete combustion of fuel.

Long‐term restoration of river connectivity drives recovery of a diadromous fish in southern Australia

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.

Speed Control of Single Molecules on a Surface

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 44, 26 October 2026.
The speed of a single molecule moving across a silver crystal surface is determined with the tip of a scanning tunneling microscope (STM). Travelling distances Δx and travelling times Δt, which are determined simultaneously with high precision, allow to directly measure time–distance relationships.

ABSTRACT Global tests of English are usually used globally and local tests locally. However, this global–local dichotomy has been challenged by test localisation, globalisation and glocalisation. An emerging critical question in this regard is whether local tests of English can be used locally and globally at the same time.
