Modeling and Predicting Grinding Force of the Grinding Process

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
A new method for predicting the grinding force is developed in this paper. The grinding forces model is build by divided it into cutting deformation force and sliding force and combine the undeformed chip thickness which assume the height of grits obey the Rayleigh distribution.

Modeling and analysis of grinding force in surface grinding

2011 IEEE International Conference on Computer Science and Automation Engineering, 2011
A new simple model of grinding force in surface grinding is proposed in this paper. The model is based on the fact that the grinding forces are composed of chip formation force and sliding force. The formula for calculating the tangential and normal grinding force per unit width is obtained based on the classical formulas.

Theoretical Model of Grinding Force in Quick-Point Grinding

Materials Science Forum, 2009
Separating the workpiece velocity on the plane of grinding wheel, it is helpful to analyze Quick-point grinding mechanism. There are some relations among wheel’s deflective angle, workpiece feed velocity and tangential velocity. In this research, the resultant workpiece speed, grinding contact zone and material removal mode is analyzed.

Grinding force models in finishing processes

2001 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics. Proceedings (Cat. No.01TH8556), 2002
Force models and control for a robot-assisted surface finishing system are presented in this paper. These models are based on two different concepts, the theory of a linear observation and Grey theory. Integrated with an automated surface finishing system these force models are designed as force observers to sense the grinding contact force based on ...

A Study of Grinding Force Mathematical Model

CIRP Annals, 1980
Summary Grinding forces are composed of chip formation forces and friction forces. Based upon this concept, we have developed a new grinding force model, which is composed of two terms, corresponding to chip formation forces and friction forces respectively.

Novel Force Modelling Technique for Grinding

Journal for Manufacturing Science and Production, 2014
AbstractGrinding occupies a place in the machining arena as the final finishing process, which tends to exist in all machining environments. The grinding process generates forces that have to be countered by the robustness of the machine tool and a methodology to compute the forces that might be generated by it for deciding the type of tool and depth ...

The X-C Linkage Grinding Force Model in Cam Grinding

Key Engineering Materials, 2016
In cam grinding process, the grinding force changes with the change of cam contour, and its change leads to create the error of X-C linkage servo-tracking position, all of the factors reduce the cam the contour accuracy. To improve the accuracy of the cam profile, and research the effect of X-C axis servo tracking, the key vector of grinding force to ...

Research on Mathematical Model of Grinding Force in Gear Form Grinding

Key Engineering Materials, 2011
Based on grinding force formation theory and the surface grinding force formula, the formula of gear form grinding force is obtained by integrating the grinding force in unit width along the involute direction. Simulation analysis and inspection result show that the mathematical model of gear form grinding force is validated.
