Temperature Measurement in Grinding

1995
A thermocouple technique for measuring the workpiece surface temperature distribution in surface grinding was developed. This paper details the method employed and typical measured temperature distributions are presented. The technique was found to be successful in both dry and wet grinding operations.

Automatic Control Technology of Grinding Zone Temperature in Grinding Hardening

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In grinding hardening process, part’s surface (grinding zone) temperature directly affects the quality of surface layer of heat treatment. The high temperature heat pipe is very good device of control heat transfer. In order to make the grinding zone temperature slightly change in grinding process, this paper describes a design of temperature automatic

Research on Grinding Temperature of a New Diamond Grinding Wheel

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
It is aimed at developing a new diamond wheel in order to overcome the shortages of traditional grinding wheel, such as the abrasive easily fall off the grinding wheel prematurely, high grinding temperature, random grits distribution and the loading problems become more severe in grinding process.

Grinding temperature in high speed deep grinding of engineering ceramics

International Journal of Abrasive Technology, 2009
The paper presents an investigation of the thermal behaviour of high speed deep grinding (HSDG) for engineering ceramics, yttria partially stabilised zirconium (PSZ) and Al2O3, using the grindable thermocouple technique. Effects of the grinding conditions, including wheel velocity, feed rate and depth of cut, on the temperature were investigated.

Temperature Field Analysis in Grinding

2019
The paper is devoted to solving an important scientific problem of determining the profile grinding temperature based on the choice of a not complex but at the same time adequate solution from the available analytical ones. The initial prerequisite for the paper developing concept is that of a moving heat source. In engineering applications, the moving

Grinding With Abrasive Disks: Part 4—Grinding Power and Temperatures

Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1962
Variations in power during disk grinding have been explained and equations developed to represent the power in terms of the grinding variables. It has been shown that depth of cut is below the critical magnitude so that ultimate shear strength of the metal is involved for all but the initial 30 to 120 seconds of grinding.
