Lactoferrin Deficiency During Lactation Causes Adult Obesity‐Related Metabolic Disease Through Persistent Adipose Dysfunction Driven by Impaired Adipocyte Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactational lactoferrin deficiency exerts lasting effects on epididymal adipose tissue development from lactation into adulthood: it impairs adipocyte hyperplasia and induces pathological hypertrophy, resulting in lower body weight yet exacerbated metabolic dysfunction under a high‐fat diet in adulthood.

Senescent Cell Derived Artificial Vesicle‐Based Senolytic Sonovaccine Platform with Augmented Lymph Node Delivery and Antigen Cross‐Presentation Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A senolytic sonovaccine platform (SenoVac) is developed, in which senescent cell‐derived vesicles serve as broad senescent cell antigen reservior. The “2‐step” click chemistry strategy for effective lymph node delivery, and ultrasound‐triggered endosomal escape to boost cross‐presentation, ensures efficient senescent cell clearance and disease ...

Polypoid basal cell carcinoma on the right groin: A case report and review of literature

open access: yesJournal of Medical Sciences, 2019
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer. Polypoid BCC is very rare and distinguishes from other types of BCC by being female predominant, locating on nonsun-exposed areas, prevailing in dark-skinned races, and having large ...

Bandgap‐Engineered PtxTey:Ag2Te Composite Quantum Dots Enable Programmable NIR‐II Imaging and Photothermal‐Immune Synergistic Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bandgap‐engineered PtxTey:Ag2Te quantum dot platform enables tunable NIR‐IIb emission for deep‐tissue imaging and mild photothermal therapy. Conjugation with αPD‐L1 confers dual tumor targeting and real‐time monitoring of PD‐L1 dynamics. Mild photothermal modulation induces immune reprogramming, enhancing checkpoint blockade efficacy and achieving ...

The Effects of Anthropic Structures on Coastline Morphology: A Case Study from the Málaga Coast (Spain)

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The Málaga coast, in the south of Spain, is a densely populated tourist destination where ports, marinas and coastal protection structures of various typologies (e.g., groins, breakwaters, revetments) and shapes (e.g., “Y”, “L”, etc., shaped groins) have

Ultrasound of the groin: A pictorial review

open access: yes, 2013
The groin is a complex and clinically important area involving numerous fascia, muscles and neurovascular structures.Physical findings can be confusing and accurate diagnosis of groin pathology often relies on imaging. Ultrasound is considered by many as

Combining Radiation‐Treated Tumor Vaccines With Mn‐MOF Nanoadjuvants to Amplify Radiation Induced Anti‐Tumor Immune Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy‐treated tumor membranes are integrated with Mn‐MOF nanoadjuvants to generate Mn@RM, a lymph node‐draining nanovaccine that delivers radiotherapy‐remodeled antigenic components. Mn@RM enhances dendritic cell activation, amplifies T cell‐mediated antitumor immunity, and synergizes with radiotherapy and PD‐1 blockade for combination cancer ...

Effects of Groin Type and Bed Properties on Flow in Groin Fields: Comparison of Fixed- and Mobile-Bed Experiments

open access: yes, 2022
Groin type and vegetation in groin fields directly affect flow field, bank protection, and river evolution. Many studies focus on fixed-bed contexts, but there are few studies on the influence of riverbed changes on hydrodynamic characteristics around ...

Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...
