Report of subpanel on inter-image matching [PDF]

open access: yes
Research needs in the area inter-image matching for remote Earth observation systems are defined. Correlation considerations include types of correlation algorithms, preprocessing techniques, limits on subpixed accuracy, relief and atmospheric refraction

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Based Power Pole Localization Using Image Stitching [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
When facing natural disasters, power transmission and distribution towers are prone to tilting, collapsing, and other situations, which can easily lead to line faults and subsequently cause power outage incidents.

Geometric Correction of PHI Hyperspectral Image without Ground Control Points

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2014
Geometric correction without ground control points (GCPs) is a very important topic. Conventional airborne photogrammetry is difficult to implement in areas where the installation of GCPs is not available. The technical of integrated GPS/INS systems providing the positioning and attitude of airborne systems is a potential solution in such areas.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Automating Ground Control Point Detection in Drone Imagery: From Computer Vision to Deep Learning

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Drone-based photogrammetry typically requires the task of georeferencing aerial images by detecting the center of Ground Control Points (GCPs) placed in the field. Since this is a very labor-intensive task, it could benefit greatly from automation.

Treatment of control data in lunar phototriangulation [PDF]

open access: yes
In lunar phototriangulation, there is a complete lack of accurate ground control points. The accuracy analysis of the results of lunar phototriangulation must, therefore, be completely dependent on statistical procedure.
