Implications of Hydrocarbon and Helium Gas Analyses of Springs from the Ouachita Mountains, Arkansas [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
One hundred and three ground water samples (predominantly springs) were analyzed for headspace light hydrocarbon gases and helium. Four of the formations (Arkansas Novaculite, Bigfork Chert, Stanley Shale, and Womble) having the highest mean methane ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Invariant protection of high-voltage electric motors of technological complexes at industrial enterprises at partial single-phase ground faults

open access: yes, 2018
Development results of invariant protection of high-voltage motors at incomplete single-phase ground faults are observed in the article. It is established that current protections have low action selectivity because of an inadmissible decrease in ...

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

High Impedance Single-Phase Faults Diagnosis in Transmission Lines via Deep Reinforcement Learning of Transfer Functions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Accurate and fast fault detection in transmission lines is of high importance to maintain the reliability of power systems. Most of the existing methods suffer from false detection of high-impedance faults.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

A Smart Fault-Tackling Strategy Based on PFTE for AC Three-Phase-to-Ground Faults in the Multi-Terminal HVDC Wind Power Integration System: Further Foundings

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
This paper describes a smart fault tackling strategy based on power flow transfer entropy (PFTE) for AC three-phase-to-ground (TPG) faults in the multi-terminal HVDC (MTDC) wind power integration system.
