HEAT EXCHANGER FOR IN-GROUND HEAT STORAGE
Chemical Engineering Communications, 1980The first phase of a research project using undisturbed soil for sensible heat storage is described. A laboratory scale model of a heat exchange system was constructed and tested. Thermal charging and recovery rates, modes of heat transport and transient temperature conditions, as well as over-all heat storage performance of the unit are given.

Modeling of vertical ground heat exchangers
International Journal of Green Energy, 2021Below a certain depth, the ground temperature remains almost unchanged annually. This phenomenon can be exploited by coupling a ground heat exchanger to a heat pump, storing heat in the ground duri...

Heat transfer in horizontal ground heat exchangers
Applied Thermal Engineering, 2015Abstract The mathematical model of a horizontal ground heat exchanger was presented. The model was based on a one-dimensional equation of the transient heat conduction with an internal source of heat. The model was correctly verified by comparison of computational results and experimental measurements presented in literature.

Long Term Simulation of Horizontal Ground Heat Exchanger for Ground Source Heat Pump
Volume 6B: Energy, 2015The earth is an energy resource which has more suitable and stable temperatures than air. Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHPs) were developed to use ground energy for residential heating. The most important part of a GSHP is the Ground Heat Exchanger (GHE) that consists of pipes buried in the soil and is used for transferring heat between the soil and the ...
