Ground Moving Target Indication in SAR Images With Symmetric Doppler Views

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2016
A new algorithm is presented to indicate ground moving targets in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. Two symmetric SAR images, one is referred to as a positive Doppler view and the other as a negative Doppler view, are generated by refocusing the positive Doppler plane and the negative Doppler plane, respectively.

Ground moving target indication by MIMO SAR with multi-antenna in azimuth

2011 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2011
Ground moving target indication (GMTI) is of great important for surveillance and reconnaissance. The representative GMTI technique of along-track interferometry (ATI) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) does not take into account the fact that the stationary clutter unavoidably corrupts the interferometric phase of the targets.

Ground moving target indication in a SAR image based on background cognition

2013 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium - IGARSS, 2013
Ground moving target indication (GMTI) with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a very hot research topic in recent years. The traditional methods are based on multi-antennae technology, such as displaced-phase-center-antenna [1], along-track interferometry [2], and space time adaptive processing [3], and many space-borne or air-borne radars have been ...

Radar resource management for a ground moving target indication radar

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
The problem of tracking a number of time-varying slow-moving targets in the presence of clutter and false alarms is particularly challenging for the ground moving target indication (GMTI) application. It requires adaptive clutter cancellation techniques such as space-time adaptive processing to deal with the mainbeam clutter.

FOPEN Ground Moving Target Indication

2011
This paper will detail the approach for detecting moving targets in ultra high frequency (UHF) FOPEN systems. It is well known that a moving platform provides competing clutter spread in Doppler that masks all but the very fast ground targets. Moving target detection RADARs have been developed at UHF for detecting airborne targets.

Multi-Channel SAR for Ground Moving Target Indication

2014
Abstract Modern multi-channel air- and spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors allow for a variety of applications, independent of sunlight illumination and weather conditions. One application is ground moving target indication (GMTI) with the aim to detect moving targets on ground and to estimate their positions, velocities and moving ...

Research on the technology of monopulse SAR ground moving target indication

2007 1st Asian and Pacific Conference on Synthetic Aperture Radar, 2007
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a sort of high resolution imaging radar but the image of moving objects are often smeared and displaced in azimuth. In this paper, ground moving target indication (GMTI) with a monopulse SAR is introduced. The present method makes it possible to indicate the moving target in imaging scene and correct the azimuth ...

Ground Moving Target Indication and Imaging in WAS Mode

2017
This chapter mainly discusses the GMTI and GMTIm algorithms in WAS mode. The signal mode of moving target is established in WAS mode, and a new system design scheme is presented to maintain the sharpening ratio constant without increasing the system and signal processing complexity.

On MIMO radar transmission schemes for ground moving target indication

2009 Conference Record of the Forty-Third Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2009
We compare several multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar transmission schemes, including code division, time division and Doppler frequency division multiplexing approaches, for ground moving target indication (GMTI). To utilize probing waveforms with low sidelobe levels for range compression, we transmit sequences specifically designed to have ...

Ground moving target indication and parameter estimation with single channel for SAR system

2016 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2016
In this paper, a novel method for ground moving target indication (GMTI) and parameter estimation is proposed with single channel of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system. The proposed method uses the varying Doppler chirp rate to get a new image, where the clutter scatters are motionless and the moving targets are translational along slant range ...
