Numerical Analysis of Inlet–Outlet Leg Barriers in Vertical Borehole Heat Exchangers: A Strategy to Mitigate the Thermal Resistance

open access: yesGeotechnics
The efficiency of heat transfer through borehole heat exchangers is influenced by the thermal resistances of both the borehole and the surrounding soil. Optimizing these resistances can improve the heat transfer performance and reduce system costs.

Can you take the heat? – Geothermal energy in mining [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In 2013, there are less than 20 documented examples of operational geothermal systems on mine sites worldwide. This is surprising, since on remote mine sites, where fuels may have to be shipped in over great distances, heating and cooling from low ...

GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMP OPERATION ANALYSIS

open access: yes, 2021
The paper analyzes the influence of different parameters on the effective Coefficient of Performance (COP) of a ground source heat pump. Heat pump located in the Laboratory for Thermal Science Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade is adopted for model. Since the change in soil temperature more or less depends on the change in
