The complete set of infinite volume ground states for Kitaev's abelian quantum double models [PDF]

open access: yesCommun. Math. Phys. 357, 125-157 (2018), 2016
We study the set of infinite volume ground states of Kitaev's quantum double model on $\mathbb{Z}^2$ for an arbitrary finite abelian group $G$. It is known that these models have a unique frustration-free ground state. Here we drop the requirement of frustration freeness, and classify the full set of ground states.

Potential of the ground state of NaRb [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2004
The X$^{1} ^{+}$ state of NaRb was studied by Fourier transform spectroscopy. An accurate potential energy curve was derived from more than 8800 transitions in isotopomers $^{23}$Na$^{85}$Rb and $^{23}$Na$^{87}$Rb. This potential reproduces the experimental observations within their uncertainties of 0.003 \rcm to 0.007 \rcm.

Approximating Ground States by Neural Network Quantum States

open access: yesEntropy, 2019
Motivated by the Carleo’s work [Science, 2017, 355: 602], we focus on finding the neural network quantum statesapproximation of the unknown ground state of a given Hamiltonian H in terms of the best relative error and explore the influences of sum,

Review of Photonic Integrated Optical Phased Arrays for Space Optical Communication

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
A review of photonic integrated optical phased array (OPA) for space optical communication is presented. We review and summarize the typical works of the photonic integrated OPAs with one-dimensional and two-dimensional optical antenna array in recent ...

NLS ground states on graphs [PDF]

open access: yesCalculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations, 2014
We investigate the existence of ground states for the subcritical NLS energy on metric graphs. In particular, we find out a topological assumption that guarantees the nonexistence of ground states, and give an example in which the assumption is not fulfilled and ground states actually exist.

Probing the superconducting ground state of the rare-earth ternary boride superconductors $R$RuB$_2$ ($R$ = Lu,Y) using muon-spin rotation and relaxation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The superconductivity in the rare-earth transition metal ternary borides $R$RuB$_2$ (where $R$ = Lu and Y) has been investigated using muon-spin rotation and relaxation.

Strangeness in the baryon ground states [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2012
We compute the strangeness content of the baryon octet and decuplet states based on an analysis of recent lattice simulations of the BMW, PACS, LHPC and HSC groups for the pion-mass dependence of the baryon masses. Our results rely on the relativistic chiral Lagrangian and large-$N_c$ sum rule estimates of the counter terms relevant for the baryon ...

Ground states for Maxwell's equations in nonlocal nonlinear media [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this paper we investigate the existence of ground states and dual ground states for Maxwell's Equations in $\mathbb{R}^3$ in nonlocal nonlinear metamaterials. We prove that several nonlocal models admit ground states in contrast to their local analogues.

On the ground state of NiH2

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1998
The uncertainty over the symmetry of the ground state of NiH2 is resolved, showing that it is a bent  1A1. The computations have been performed using a complete active space self-consistent field wave function (CASSCF), a second order perturbation method (CASPT2), and quasirelativistic corrections to the energy and geometry.

Action versus energy ground states in nonlinear Schrödinger equations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
We investigate the relations between normalized critical points of the nonlinear Schr\"odinger energy functional and critical points of the corresponding action functional on the associated Nehari manifold. Our first general result is that the ground state levels are strongly related by the following duality result: the (negative) energy ground state ...
