Nuclear models and the osmium isotopes [PDF]
The energies of, and transition probabilities involving, the ground-state rotation bands of Os186, Os188, and Os190 are compared with a diagonalized rotation-vibration theory in which vibrations are considered to three phonon order. Agreement even in the

Ground State Vibrational Frequencies [PDF]
A STUDY of the ground state vibrational frequencies of diatomic molecules in relation to the Periodic Table has shown that the arithmetic mean m of the vibrational frequencies of the two elementary molecules A2 and B2 which belong to the same Periodic Group is approximately equal to the frequency of the compound molecule AB.

ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Thermoreflectance Detection of Point Defects Resulting from Focused Ion Beam Milling
Focused ion beam (FIB) milling is a common tool for nanoscale material processing, however irradiation damage, redeposition, and contamination can occur. We use several characterization tools to show FIB‐induced effects beyond 1 mm from the milled area.

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.
