Physical and thermal characterization of ground bark and ground wood particles
Renewable Energy, 2018Abstract The present work reports the physical, size and shape, flowability, drying and devolatilization properties of ground wood and ground bark particles. Mechanical sieving and image processing identify the size and shape of ground particles, respectively.

Computer drafting of stones, wood, plant and ground materials
Computer Graphics, 1979Architectural presentation drawings frequently require the drafting of stones, wood patterns, plants and ground materials, which, contrary to the majority of drafting tasks, cannot rely on repetitious procedures. This paper discusses and illustrates computer implemented algorithms which generate graphic representations of the above materials.

Predicting the beech wood decay and strength loss in-ground
International Biodeterioration and Biodegradation, 2017In the context of reduction of CO2 emissions and costs in the construction industry, substitution ofconcrete by wood for foundation piles seems to be a promising alternative. To promote the use of localwood in pile foundation, diagnostic and prediction methodology of wood decay in soil need to beimproved.

Abstract The fluorescence spectra of paper made from high yield pulp (stone-ground wood pulp (SGWP)) and of thin sections of a softwood (Abies) were recorded and shown to be very similar. The fluorescence from a wood sample, previously reduced with sodium borohydride, shows a biexponential decay, with the magnitude and contribution of the components ...

Decay of Wood and Wood-Based Products Above Ground in Buildings
Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 1999Abstract This paper is an overview of what we know about occurrence of wood decay above ground within buildings. It presents information concerning under what conditions decay may become established. In laboratory tests involving optimum moisture and temperature conditions for decay fungi, and direct contact with large quantities of ...
