Grounding and Aristotle’s Posterior Analytics [PDF]

open access: yes
Fabrice Correia and Benjamin Schnieder suggest that Aristotle’s account of formal causation in the Posterior Analytics is a type of grounding. While there are many similarities, I will argue that what Aristotle had in mind differs from contemporary ...

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Parallel Grounding Effects on Transformer Resistance and Distribution Substation Reliability

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah Telsinas
The grounding system is an essential component of power installations that provides a low-impedance path for fault currents to flow safely into the earth, thereby protecting personnel and equipment from hazards associated with touch and step voltages ...

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

Grounding Resistance Measurement of Transmission Towers in Mountainous Area [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Due to limitations of 0.618 pole method, the triangle method and the champ ground resistance tester method on grounding resistance measurement of transmission lines and towers under conditions of complex landscape in a mountainous area, it adopts a ...

A TECHNIQUE OF MEASURING OF RESISTANCE OF A GROUNDING DEVICE

open access: yesElectrical Engineering & Electromechanics, 2016
Introduction. Measurement of resistance of the grounding device (GD) by means of a three-electrode system. This requires not only the right choice of installation locations of measuring electrodes, but also the determination of the point of zero potential. Implementation of these requirements quite time-consuming, and in some cases impossible.

A new approach to measure and control grounding resistance

open access: yes, 2014
Grounding is the only security precaution to transfer leakage electrical energy on an electrical system to the ground via electrodes and panels placed under the ground.

Emerging experimental and computational methods for studying redox‐regulated structural transitions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Redox reactions can reshape proteins and alter how they behave in cells, with important consequences for health and disease. This review explores emerging experimental and computational approaches for discovering these redox‐sensitive protein switches, revealing their structural effects, and predicting their behavior, opening new opportunities to ...
