Monitoring and Analysis of Surface Deformation in Mining Area Based on InSAR and GRACE

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
To determine the relationship between underground mining, groundwater storage change, and surface deformation, we first used two sets of ENVISAT data and one set of Sentinel-1A data to obtain surface deformation in eastern Xuzhou coalfield based on the ...

Approaches to hazard-oriented groundwater management based on multivariate analysis of groundwater quality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Drinking water extracted near rivers in alluvial aquifers is subject to potential microbial contamination due to rapidly infiltrating river water during high discharge events.

On the contribution of groundwater storage to interannual streamflow anomalies in the Colorado River basin [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2013
We assess the significance of groundwater storage for seasonal streamflow forecasts by evaluating its contribution to interannual streamflow anomalies in the 29 tributary sub-basins of the Colorado River. Monthly and annual changes in total basin storage

Temporal Changes In Shallow Groundwater Quality In Northeastern Illinois [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The rapid increase in population and developed land in the Chicago, Illinois, metropolitan area has placed a heavy demand on water resources. The water sources most likely to be developed in this region over the next few decades are shallow aquifers ...

Sustainable Energy Solutions for Irrigation and Harvesting in Developing Countries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
One of the critical problems currently being faced by agriculture industry in developing nations is the alarming rate of groundwater depletion. Irrigation accounts for over 70% of the total groundwater withdrawn everyday.

Technical Feasibility Study of Autonomous Field Robot‐Based on‐the‐go Assessment of Soil Nutrients Using Ion‐Sensitive Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Autonomous field robots equipped with ISFET‐based sensors enable rapid, spatially resolved soil nutrient analysis directly in the field. An automated system based on the BoniRob platform is presented for standardized on‐site extraction and measurement of key macronutrients and soil pH.

Groundwater storage variability in West Africa using gravity recovery and climate experiment (GRACE) and global land data assimilation system (GLDAS) data

open access: yesEQA
The study integrates Gravity Recovery and climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data which provides Terrestrial Water Storage with Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) which provide the hydrological components of surface water and soil moisture ...

Impact of climate change on groundwater resource in a region with a fast depletion rate: the Mississippi Embayment

open access: yesJournal of Water and Climate Change, 2021
Mississippi Embayment (ME) is one of the fastest groundwater depletion regions around the world, while the impacts of climate change on groundwater resources in the region are complex and basically unknown. Using the U.S.

Global modelling of continental water storage changes : sensitivity to different climate data sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Since 2002, the GRACE satellite mission provides estimates of the Earth's dynamic gravity field with unprecedented accuracy. Differences between monthly gravity fields contain a clear hydrological signal due to continental water storage changes. In order

Long Noncoding RNA PCALRx Interacts with Pyruvate Carboxylase to Drive Multi‐Organ Developmental Toxicity in Zebrafish Embryos Exposed to Amoxicillin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Embryonic amoxicillin exposure disrupts multi‐organ development in zebrafish larvae through a lncRNA–metabolic enzyme regulatory axis. PCALRx associates with pyruvate carboxylase, promotes PC protein ubiquitination, and impairs mitochondrial energy metabolism, while vitamin B1 partially restores PC‐centered metabolic function and developmental outcomes.
