An autonomic group communication

18th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications, 2004. AINA 2004., 2004
We discuss a group protocol which supports applications with group communication service in change of QoS supported by networks and required by applications. An autonomic group protocol is realized by cooperation of multiple autonomous agents. Each agent autonomously takes a class of each protocol junction.

Coordinating group communication

Computer Networks and ISDN Systems, 1994
Abstract Group communication has been studied by different researchers, standardisation bodies and others. The results were of two kinds: group communication tools and communication services. Neither of them really satisfies. Group communication tools suffer from a lack of interworking, while communication services such as X.400 and X.500 lack the ...

Group communication models

Computer Communications, 1996
This paper presents an abstract model of an ODP-based group communication platform. The focus of this paper is on the computational and engineering models of a group communication environment. The group interaction requirements of advanced cooperative applications structured as an object-group are identified, and the distributed object models for group

Group communication protocol for large group

1993 18th Conference on Local Computer Networks, 2002
The authors discuss how to provide reliable group communication for a large number of entities interconnected by a high-speed one-channel network. A group of entities is partitioned into disjoint subgroups, named component clusters, interconnected by gateways, in order to reduce the processing time and data unit length.

Dynamic group communication security

Proceedings. Sixth IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications, 2002
If multicast communication appears as the most efficient way to send data to a group of participants, it presents also more vulnerabilities to attacks and requires services such as authentication, integrity and confidentiality to transport data securely. In this paper, we present the protocol Baal as a scalable solution to group key management problems

A group communication infrastructure

Proceedings of the third Nordic conference on Human-computer interaction, 2004
Recent technological advances have made it easier to communicate over distance and time. However, most of these technologies were initially designed for one-to-one communication, which makes them hard to use for group communication. Creating and maintaining shared lists of contacts is hard.

Group Communication and Multicast

2001
In this paper we propose a group communication architecture for the Internet. This architecture is implemented as a middleware which provides a separation between a general group communication service model, and the multicast mechanisms used to implement this service.

Communicating in Groups

1990
Until now we have tended to treat communication primarily as an individual and/or interpersonal activity, but individual or personal communication is only one aspect of organisational communication. The group meeting as a method of informing and decision-making is as old as man, and has existed ever since people began to work in groups. However, during
