Torsion free endotrivial modules for finite groups of Lie type [PDF]
In this paper we determine the torsion free rank of the group of endotrivial modules for any finite group of Lie type, in both defining and non-defining characteristic. On our way to proving this, we classify the maximal rank $2$ elementary abelian $\ell$

Coadjoint semi-direct orbits and Lagrangian families with respect to Hermitian form
We use the underlying structure of then coadjoint orbits of a semidirect product of a connected Lie group and a vector space to obtain families of Lagrangian submanifolds in the adjoint orbits of complex semisimple Lie groups with respect to the ...

The maximal size of a minimal generating set
A generating set for a finite group G is minimal if no proper subset generates G, and $m(G)$ denotes the maximal size of a minimal generating set for G. We prove a conjecture of Lucchini, Moscatiello and Spiga by showing that there exist $a,b>

Groups of Extended Affine Lie Type [PDF]
We construct certain Steinberg groups associated to extended affine Lie algebras and their root systems. Then by the integration methods of Kac and Peterson for integrable Lie algebras, we associate a group to every tame extended affine Lie algebra. Afterwards, we show that the extended affine Weyl group of the ground Lie algebra can be recovered as a ...

FORMATION CONTROL OF MULTIPLE UNICYCLE-TYPE ROBOTS USING LIE GROUP
In this paper the formation control of a multi-robots system is investigated. The proposed control law, based on Lie group theory, is applied to control the formation of a group of unicycle-type robots.

Varieties of a class of elementary subalgebras
Let $ G $ be a connected standard simple algebraic group of type $ C $ or $ D $ over an algebraically closed field $ \Bbbk $ of positive characteristic $ p > 0 $, and $ \mathfrak{g}: = \mathrm{Lie}(G) $ be the Lie algebra of $ G $.

On the Lie algebra of a finite group of Lie type
In this paper we study a certain finite Lie algebra, g, associated with a finite group of Lie type, G. The maximal tori of g are determined (assuming certain characteristic restrictions), and it is shown that the number of Gorbits of these depends only on the Weyl group.

Cohomology of simple modules for sl3(k) in characteristic 3 [PDF]
In this paper we calculate cohomology of a classical Lie algebra of type A2 over an algebraically field k of characteristic p = 3 with coefficients in simple modules. To describe their structure we will consider them as modules over an algebraic

ON A TYPE OF SUBGROUPS OF A COMPACT LIE GROUP [PDF]
Let G be a connected compact Lie group and H a connected closed subgroup. Then H is an orientable submanifold of G and we may consider H as a cycle in G. In his interesting paper on the topology of group manifolds H. Samelson has proved that, if H is not homologous to 0, then the homology ring of the coset space G/H is isomorphic to the homology ring ...

On the existence of a unipotent support for the irreducible characters of a finite group of Lie type
. In 1980, Lusztig posed the problem of showing the existence of a unipotent support for the irreducible characters of a (cid:12)nite group of Lie type. This problem was solved by Lusztig in the case where the characteristic of the (cid:12)eld over which
