Social Balance Theory: Revisiting Heider’s Balance Theory for many agents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We construct a model based on Heider’s social balance theory to analyze the interpersonal network among social agents. The model of social balance theory provides us an interesting tool to see how a social group evolves to the possible balance state.

Serological Benefit of SARS‐CoV‐2 Vaccination Relative to Infection in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

Antibacterial activity of Diterpenes against Methicillin-resistant

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2014
One new and seven known diterpenes were identified from an antibacterial chromatographic fraction of Taxodium ascendens . Of these, demethylcryptojaponol ( 2 ), 6-hydroxysalvinolone ( 3 ), hydroxyferruginol ( 4 ), and hinokiol ( 5 ) demonstrated potent ...

A construction of a skewaffine structure in Laguerre geometry

open access: yes, 2006
J. Andre constructed a skewaffine structure as a group space of a normally transitive group. In the paper this construction was used to describe such an external structure associated with a point of Laguerre plane.

On the structure of stable groups

open access: yesAnnals of Pure and Applied Logic, 1997
The reviewed paper is a survey of results about properties of stable groups. These are classified into three main categories: 1. chain condition, i.e. the fact that in a stable group any chain of intersections of subgroups which are given by a formula \(\varphi(x,\overline a)\) with varying parameter \(\overline a\) must have finite length, bounded by ...

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

The Structure of NC-Groups

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2001
A finite group \(G\) is called an NC-group if \(C_G(A)=N_G(A)\) or \(C_G(A)=A\) for every Abelian subgroup \(A\) of \(G\). These groups are completely classified in this paper: apart from \(A_5\) and \(\text{PSL}(2,7)\), which are the only nonsolvable NC-groups, there are 6 more classes of solvable ones.

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Coxeter group structure of cosmological billiards on compact spatial manifolds

open access: yes, 2008
We present a systematic study of the cosmological billiard structures of Einstein-p-form systems in which all spatial directions are compactified on a manifold of nontrivial topology.
