IMAGING DISPERSION CURVE OF DISPERSIVE WAVES USING SHORT-TIME FOURIER TRANSFORM: 2025 MYANMAR EARTHQUAKE M 7.7

open access: yesJGE
Understanding of Earth's subsurface is crucial for mitigating geological hazards, particularly earthquakes. A key parameter for subsurface characterization is the surface wave dispersion curve, which strongly reflects shear wave velocity (Vs) at various ...

Group velocity mismatch at ultrashort electromagnetic pulse propagation in nonlinear metamaterials

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2019
The parametric interaction of optical wave pulses in metamaterials is considered in the first approximation of the theory of dispersion. The interaction between the quasi-monochromatic pump wave and the wave pulse at the total frequency with quadratic ...

Area Efficient Computing-in-Memory Architecture Using STT/SOT Hybrid Three Level Cell

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Nanotechnology, 2022
Spintronic-based computing-in-memory (CiM) architecture has emerged as one of the efficient solutions to counter the latency/bandwidth bottleneck of conventional von-Neumann architecture.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Effects of Excitation Angle on Air-Puff-Stimulated Surface Acoustic Wave-Based Optical Coherence Elastography (SAW-OCE)

open access: yesPhotonics
Increased stiffness of tissues has been recognised as a diagnostic feature of pathologies. Tissue stiffness characterisation usually involves the detection of tissue response from mechanical stimulation.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Coal seam thickness prediction method based on multi-frequency joint application of channel wave

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
Based on the frequency dispersion theory, the channel wave can inverse the coal seam thickness distribution in mining face and delineate the thin coal area to a certain extent by using a certain frequency or band-pass filter frequency band.
