Some effects of group-velocity dispersion on parametric interactions
Three-wave parametric interactions are studied in media exhibiting group-velocity dispersion. Under certain conditions these interactions may be described by the same equations that govern pulse propagation in a two-level resonant system.

GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

Steep atomic dispersion induced by velocity-selective optical pumping
We demonstrate a method of preparation of broadband sign-reversible dispersion in alkali vapour based on velocity-selective optical pumping. The refractive index in Rb vapour has been measured using a heterodyne method.

Characterization of the key membrane protein cytochrome Cyc2 from Ghiorsea bivora
This study reports the first detailed biochemical analysis of Cyc2TAG1_1, a cytochrome protein involved in microbial iron oxidation. We produced and purified this enzyme in E. coli, then measured its iron‐oxidizing efficiency, and characterized its electrical and structural properties.

Here we present a detailed theoretical analysis of the interaction between electrons and optical phonons of interface and confined modes in a wurtzite AlN/GaN/AlN quantum well heterostructure based on the uniaxial dielectric continuum model.

Student engagement extends beyond simple attendance. Across 891 bioscience students from three universities, attendance behaviour was associated mainly with structural influences, whereas classroom spatial behaviour reflected affective and sensory factors.

Spectral reorganization of space-time wave packets in presence of normal group-velocity dispersion [PDF]
Space-time wave packets (STWPs) are pulsed beams that propagate invariantly (without diffraction or dispersion) in linear media. The behavior of STWPs in free space is now well-established, and recently their propagation invariance was confirmed in both ...

Hyperbolic shock waves of the optical self-focusing with normal group-velocity dispersion
The theory of focusing light pulses in Kerr media with normal group-velocity dispersion in (2+1) and (3+1) dimensions is revisited. It is shown that pulse splitting introduced by this dispersion follows from shock fronts that develop along hyperbolas ...

Group-velocity matched nonlinear photonic crystal fibers [PDF]
A quadratic nonlinear index-guiding silica PCF is optimized for efficient second-harmonic generation through dispersion calculations. Zero group-velocity mismatch is possible for any pump wavelength above 780 nm.
