On subgroups of saturated or totally bounded paratopological groups

open access: yes, 2003
A paratopological group G is saturated if the inverse U ⁻¹ of each non-empty set U ⊂ G has non-empty interior. It is shown that a [first-countable] paratopological group H is a closed subgroup of a saturated (totally bounded) [abelian] paratopological

Effect of a low glycaemic index diet during pregnancy on maternal and cord blood metabolomic profiles: results from the ROLO randomized controlled trial

open access: yesNutrition & Metabolism, 2019
Background Elevated post-prandial blood glucose during pregnancy has been associated with adverse pregnancy and offspring outcomes, such as maternal gestational diabetes and excessive foetal growth.

Suppression of lung adenocarcinoma migration through organelle alkalization by human lactoferrin – albumin fusion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Soil infiltration variability across diverse soil reference groups, textures, and landuse types

open access: yesGeoderma
Soil infiltration, a key process in the terrestrial water cycle, is typically measured pointwise, but is often upscaled by averaging across different soil groups or even texture classes, e.g., when parameterizing water movement in land surface models. We

Finitely asymptotic properties of powers of characters of compact semisimple Lie groups.

open access: yes, 1994
This thesis has to do with decomposing tensor powers of irreducible representations of compact semisimple Lie groups or their Lie algebras. We will be concerned only with the set of irreducible representations appearing in the decomposition.

New criteria for product improvement. Levels of salt, saturated fat and sugar for food groups

open access: yes, 2022

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Chemical composition, sensory characteristics, and fatty acid profile of muscle from Aberdeen Angus, Charolais, Simmental, and Hereford bulls

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2006
Aberdeen Angus (AA), Charolais (CH), Simmental (SI), and Hereford (HE) bulls were used in two fattening experiments with the objective of determining breed differences in chemical composition, sensory characteristics, and fatty acid profile of m ...
