A Partially Defined Medium for the Growth of Mycoplasma [PDF]
Journal of General Microbiology, 1960 SUMMARY: The saprophytic Mycoplasma laidlawii strains A and B were grown in a partially denned medium composed of inorganic salts, Casamino acids, vitamins, nucleic acids, glucose and 10% (v/v) horse serum. The growth was less good than in the complex Edward medium; addition of known growth factors did not improve growth.

A defined growth medium for Clostridium difficile [PDF]
Microbiology, 1995 Minimal requirements of amino acids and vitamins were determined in chemically defined medium for five strains of Clostridium difficile. Cysteine, isoleucine, leucine, proline, tryptophan and valine were essential amino acids for growth of C. difficile. Arginine, glycine, histidine, methionine and threonine enhanced growth.

Applied and Environmental Microbiology, 1982 Campylobacter species were grown in a base containing proteose peptone no. 3, yeast extract, K2HPO4, (NH4)2SO4, NA2SO3, soluble starch, and agar. Concentrations and sources of organic nitrogen and growth factors were critical, and the optimal pH range was 7.0 to 7.5.
