Significance of Development Stage Theory for Explaining Industrial Growth Pattern between Asian NICs and Selected Advanced Economies [PDF]
The East Asian miracle was real. Prior to the 1997 economic and currency crises, Asian NICs — Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan — achieved remarkable annual GDP growth. In these countries the overall economic performance was significantly determined

Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

The global feed gap, driven by seasonal shortages and climate change, highlights the need for novel forage resources. Vicia faba (Faba bean) produces substantial above-ground biomass as residue after fresh pod harvest, which remains underutilized.

What Determines the Growth Ambition of Dutch Early-Stage Entrepreneurs? [PDF]
This paper investigates the determinants of the ambition to grow among Dutch early-stage entrepreneurs (nascents and young business owners). We use Adult Population Survey data of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) for the Netherlands.

Imbibition, germination, and early seedling growth responses of light purple and yellow seeds of red clover to distilled water, sodium chloride, and nutrient solution [PDF]
The seeds of red clover are heteromorphic and two color morphs can be visually recognized, light purple and yellow, resulting from heterozygosity and recessive homozygosity at two loci.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Light adaptive image enhancement for improving visual analysis in intercropping cultivation
Intercropping maize and soybean with distinct plant heights is a typical practice in diversified cropping systems, where shadows cast by taller maize plants onto soybean rows pose significant challenges for image based recognition.

Education and economic growth [PDF]
Contemporary views on the determinants of economic growth place education in centre stage. Yet the way in which education affects growth is not yet well understood.
