Forage Potential of Faba Bean By-Products: A Comprehensive Analysis of Proximate Nutrients, Mineral Content, Bioactive Components, and Antioxidant Activities

open access: yesAgronomy
The global feed gap, driven by seasonal shortages and climate change, highlights the need for novel forage resources. Vicia faba (Faba bean) produces substantial above-ground biomass as residue after fresh pod harvest, which remains underutilized.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Light adaptive image enhancement for improving visual analysis in intercropping cultivation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Intercropping maize and soybean with distinct plant heights is a typical practice in diversified cropping systems, where shadows cast by taller maize plants onto soybean rows pose significant challenges for image based recognition.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Monitoring the Concentrations of Na, Mg, Ca, Cu, Fe, and K in Sargassum fusiforme at Different Growth Stages by NIR Spectroscopy Coupled with Chemometrics

open access: yesFoods
Sargassum fusiforme, an edible seaweed, plays a crucial role in our daily lives by providing essential nutrients, including minerals, to the human body. The detection of mineral content during different growth stages of S. fusiforme benefits the goals of

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Does Consumption-Wealth Ratio Signal Stock Returns? : VECM Results for Germany [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the signalling effect of the consumption-wealth ratio (cay) on German stock returns via vector error correction models (VECMs). The effect of cay on U.S.
