APPLICATION METHOD OF ANTIMICROBIAL SUBSTANCES FOR THE CONTROL OF SCHIZOPHYLLUM COMMUNE FR. CAUSING BROWN GERM AND SEED ROT OF OIL PALM

open access: yesBiotropia: The Southeast Asian Journal of Tropical Biology, 2008
Biological seed treatment promotes to save the environment from toxic chemicals in the agricultural practices. Schizophyllum commune is one of the important seedborne pathogenic fungi causing brown germ and seed rot of oil palm which required ...

The effect of the active substance of the fungicide (in vitro) on mycelium growth, germination of conidia and sclerotia of B. convoluta

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2009
In the years 2005–2007 in a collection of 527 cultivars of tall large-flowered irises (Iris × barbata group Elatior) in the Botanical Garden and Arboretum of MZLU in Brno the fungus Botrytis convolute infested the plants.

Autophagy in cancer and protein conformational disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Autophagy plays a crucial role in numerous biological processes, including protein and organelle quality control, development, immunity, and metabolism. Hence, dysregulation or mutations in autophagy‐related genes have been implicated in a wide range of human diseases.

(2-Chloroethyl) Trimethylammonium Chloride and Related Compounds as Plant Growth Substances. II. Effect on Growth of Wheat.

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1960
In this series of publications, the action of (2chloroethyl)trimethylammonium chloride and certain other compounds structurally related to the quaternary ammonium cation, (CH3),3N + CH2-CH2X, are described as a class of plant growth substances.

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Involvement of plant growth substances in the alteration of leaf gas exchange of flooded tomato plants.

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1983
Ethylene, abscisic acid, and cytokinins were tested for their ability to either induce or prevent the changes which occur in gas exchange characteristics of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv. Rheinlands Ruhm) leaves during short-term soil flooding.

Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

EFFECTS OF GROWTH SUBSTANCES ON PHOTOSYNTHESIS [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1949
The use of growth substances upon plants as herbicides and for the purpose of modifying such phenomena as dormancy, abscission, bud differentiation, and fruit set has become quite extensive. Therefore, it should be of interest to know what effect some of these compounds have upon the process of photosynthesis.
