Heterosis in Tomato for Growth and Yield Traits
International Journal of Vegetable Science, 2017Heterosis breeding is used to improve yield quantity and quality of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) because traditional methods cannot be used to achieve this goal.

Fast Screening of Bacteria for Plant Growth Promoting Traits
2020Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria (PGPB) are a group of beneficial microorganisms that can positively influence plant fitness and development by improving nutrient acquisition, influencing global plant hormone levels (direct effect), or by reducing the detrimental effects of various pathogens on plant development (indirect effect).

Growth rate and carcass traits in capons
Acta agriculturae Slovenica. Suplement, 2001Thirty-nine capons and slips of Slovenian provenance barred Prelux (Prelux-G) and thirty-eight capons and slips of Slovenian autochthonous Styrian breed (partridge variation) were comprised in an experiment in order to compare their growth performance and carcass traits. Prelux-G cockerels were caponized at age eight weeks, and Styrian ones at age nine

Competition‐Induced Trait Variability Obscures Trait–Growth Relationships of Tree Seedlings
Ecology LettersABSTRACT Trait‐based ecology seeks to improve plant growth predictions by incorporating individual trait variability, yet empirical studies have shown that even individual‐level traits struggle to predict growth due to unclear mechanisms. In a 3‐year experiment measuring 10 functional traits and growth in 5188 seedlings, we found that

Quantitative trait loci for growth traits in C57BL/6J × DBA/2J mice
Mammalian Genome, 1999Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for body weight and tail length are mapped in an F2 population of 927 C57BL/6J x DBA/2J mice. We test the concordance between the locations of the mapped QTLs with those detected by changes of marker frequency under artificial selection in a previous experiment with the same base population.

Crossbreeding effects on reproductive traits of does and growth and carcass traits of kids
Small Ruminant Research, 1993A total of 146 does and 177 kids (90 males and 87 females) involved in the first crossing between Alpine bucks and Rove does were studied. Effect of breed was not significant on fertility, but highly significant (P < 0.01) on abortion and prolificacy of does. The Alpine breed was more prolific although more abortive than Rove.

Growth and milk yield traits of türkgeldi sheep
2004This study was conducted from data from 3 years of research performed at the Türkgeldi State Farm in 1997-2000. A total of 1053 Türkgeldi Pro-type B1 Tahirova x Kivircik sheep including mature and young individuals were used as the study material. Litter size and fecundity were 1. 42 and 1.51, respectively.
