The role of ornamental plants as hosts of Tomato chlorotic spot virus and its vector thrips affecting tomato production
Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 171, Issue 5, Page 395-405, May 2023., 2023 Tomato chlorotic spot virus (TCSV), vectored by thrips, is an important disease of tomato in South Florida, USA. We investigated the presence of thrips and TCSV in 24 ornamental plant species. Thrips, mainly Frankliniella occidentalis and Frankliniella schultzei (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), were found in high abundance in ornamental flowering plants in a Rafia A. Khan, Dakshina R. Advanced Science, Volume 9, Issue 10, April 5, 2022., 2022 Metastable iron sulfides (mFeS) demonstrate a Gram‐dependent antibacterial activity by releasing polysulfide species that penetrate bacteria with thin wall. The polysulfides then disrupt glycolytic energy metabolism and synergize with iron to kill bacteria without inducing new drug resistance.Ling Fang, Ruonan Ma, Xuejiao J. EFSA Journal, Volume 18, Issue 1, January 2020., 2020 Abstract
The European Commission requested a pest categorisation of the non‐EU viruses and viroids of potato (hereafter referred to as viruses). As a first step, a systematic literature and database search was carried out to identify the viruses reported to naturally infect Solanum tuberosum and other tuber‐forming Solanum spp (hereafter referred to as EFSA Panel on Plant Health (PLH), Claude Bragard, Katharina Dehnen‐Schmutz, Paolo Gonthier, Marie‐Agnès Jacques, Josep Anton Jaques Miret, Annemarie Fejer Justesen, Alan MacLeod, Christer Sven Magnusson, Panagiotis Milonas, Juan A Navas‐Cortes, Stephen Parnell, Roel Potting, Philippe Lucien Reignault, Hans‐Hermann Thulke, Wopke van der Werf, Antonio Vicent Civera, Jonathan Yuen, Lucia Zappalà, Thierry Candresse, Christophe Lacomme, Bernard Bottex, Tomasz Kaluski, Carla Oplaat, Annelien Roenhorst, Martijn Schenk, Francesco Di Serio +26 morewiley +1 more sourceLongitudinal double-spin asymmetry for inclusive jet production in p+p
