An accurate emotion recognition system using ECG and GSR signals and matching pursuit method

open access: yesBiomedical Journal, 2017
Background The purpose of the current study was to examine the effectiveness of Matching Pursuit (MP) algorithm in emotion recognition. Methods Electrocardiogram (ECG) and galvanic skin responses (GSR) of 11 healthy students were collected while subjects

Measurement of Emotional Response by Similarity in Patterns of Galvanic Skin Reflex

open access: yes, 1989
There is no doubt that many people feel the peace of mind or the pleasures of senses in appreciating music. But the estimation of the effect is very difficult and the objective estimation can be hardly done.

The IRCT Global Standards on Rehabilitation of Torture Survivors: from adoption to practice

open access: yesTorture
This paper examines the implementation of the Global Standards on Rehabilitation (GSR) by members of the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT) and their impact on the quality of rehabilitation services provided to torture ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

GSR expression associates with survival in triple negative breast cancer.

open access: yes, 2021
We mined published microarray data (1) to understand the most significant gene expression differences in the tumors of triple negative breast cancer patients based on survival following treatment: dead or alive.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Gender Variations in the Effects of Number of Organizational Memberships, Number of Social Networking Sites, and Grade-Point Average on Global Social Responsibility in Filipino University Students

open access: yesEurope's Journal of Psychology, 2016
The study seeks to estimate gender variations in the direct effects of (a) number of organizational memberships, (b) number of social networking sites (SNS), and (c) grade-point average (GPA) on global social responsibility (GSR); and in the indirect ...

Eyes Closing and Drowsiness in Human Subjects Decrease Baseline Galvanic Skin Response and Active Palmar Sweating: Relationship Between Galvanic Skin and Palmar Perspiration Responses

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
We previously constructed a perspiration ratemeter for the measurement of palmar sweating in human subjects. Although galvanic skin response (GSR) has been used to evaluate emotional responses in human subjects, little is known about the relationships ...

Supplemental Ascorbate Diminishes DNA Damage Yet Depletes Glutathione and Increases Acute Liver Failure in a Mouse Model of Hepatic Antioxidant System Disruption

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2021
Cellular oxidants are primarily managed by the thioredoxin reductase-1 (TrxR1)- and glutathione reductase (Gsr)-driven antioxidant systems. In mice having hepatocyte-specific co-disruption of TrxR1 and Gsr (TrxR1/Gsr-null livers), methionine catabolism ...

Expectancy, anxiety, and the GSR [PDF]

open access: yesPsychonomic Science, 1968
Traditionally, CR magnitude in classical conditioning was thought to be dependent only upon properties of the CS and UCS. This study investigated the cognitive factor of S’s expectancy of shock and his anxiety on GSR amplitude. Each S received 20 conditioning trials on a 50% random reinforcement schedule and had to state his expectation of shock before
