ZP-OFDM broadcasting systems with insufficient Guard Interval

2008 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems, 2008
The conventional over-lapping-add equalizer for ZP-OFDM based broadcasting systems fails to eliminate the ISI and ICI introduced by multipath propagation when the channel impulse response (CIR) length exceeds the duration of guard interval (GI). We propose, in this paper, a new equalization scheme for the suppression of insufficient GI generated ...

Optimal One-Tap Equalization for DMT Transceivers with insufficient Guard Interval

Proceedings. (ICASSP '05). IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005., 2006
We present an improved algorithm to calculate the one-tap equalizer per subchannel in a DMT receiver in the case of a guard interval of insufficient length. The new equalizer reduces the symbol error rate at no additional computational and hardware cost.

A multiple guard interval based frequency error detector for OFDM systems

IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2000
We deal with the carrier frequency synchronization of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system and propose a multiple guard interval based frequency error detector (GIB FED) using a set of consecutive guard interval data for OFDM system. We compare the performance of a multiple GIB FED with two conventional GIB FEDs.

An Efficient OFDM with Adaptive Guard Interval for Amplify and Forward Relay Systems

2013 IEEE 78th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2013
In amplify-and-forward (AF) relay systems, multi-hop transmissions over multiple frequency selective fading channels result in an accumulation of delay spread, which could lead to strong intersymbol interference (ISI) at the destination since there is no proper channel compensation at the relay nodes. If orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)

A Combined Algorithm of Kalman Estimator and Guard Interval Optimization for Mobile WiMAX

International Journal of Distributed Systems and Technologies, 2013
Mobile WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) system has been recently applied widely in wireless communication systems. In this paper, the channel estimation algorithms were studied for the mobile WiMAX system. The comb-type pilot was used for channel estimation algorithms.

Circle-16QAM for a zero-guard-interval CO-OFDM system

2017 International Conference on Optical Instruments and Technology: Optoelectronic Devices and Optical Signal Processing, 2018
In this paper, we introduce circle 16 quadrature amplitude modulation (C-16QAM) modulation format in a high spectral efficiency zero-guard-interval (ZGI) coherent optical (CO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system. At transmitter, the C-16QAM has advantages over the conventional square 16QAM in terms of transmission distance and ...

Blind Equalization in OFDM Systems Exploiting Guard Interval Redundancy

Conference Record of the Thirty-Ninth Asilomar Conference onSignals, Systems and Computers, 2005., 2006
We introduce a new low-complexity equalizer for OFDM systems, which in the presence of a guard interval, utilizes existing redundancy in the time domain to completely eliminate inter-symbol-interference. We prove that the usage of this guard interval redundancy is sufficient to obtain a zero-forcing time domain equalizer of the channel.

Pseudo-guard intervals insertion in an FBMC transmitter

2019
A method and device to modulate an FBMC/OQAM signal, the device comprising at least one QAM mapper (710, 720) mapping a binary stream into complex symbols, a first (701) and a second (702) transmission chain. Each chain comprises:- a precoder (730, 731) transposing respective sets of symbols into frequency domain real/imaginary samples,- a phase ...
