Survey was done in major guava growing districts of Tamil Nadu in India for incidence for guava root knot nematode, Meloidogyne enterolobii was found positive in all the districts, Theni district showing total infestation. The screening results showed that Mini Guava (4.0), Local (4.0), White seedless (3.6), Red seedless (3.6), Panneer guava (3.6) were

Recovery Plan for the Guava Root-Knot Nematode, Meloidogyne enterolobii
Plant Health ProgressRoot-knot nematodes (RKNs) in the genus Meloidogyne have long been considered one of the most destructive plant pathogens on earth. Meloidogyne enterolobii is an emergent species that is highly virulent and has arisen as a serious agricultural threat that has spread across tropical and subtropical growing regions around the world.

Nano formulated chitosan for management of root knot nematode, Meloidogyne enterolobii in guava
Pest Management in Horticultural EcosystemsA study was conducted to assess the efficacy of chitosan nano formulation against root knot nematode, Meloidogyne. enterolobii infecting guava. Under in vitro conditions, the nano formulation exhibited strong nematicidal activity. In glasshouse experiment, application of chitosan nano formulation @5ml/plant reduced the nematode population in soil by 64.

Occurrence of the Root-Knot Nematode Meloidogyne enterolobii Parasitizing Guava in Mexico
Plant Health ProgressGuava trees exhibiting symptoms of root-knot and foliar yellowing were observed in a backyard orchard in Juan José Ríos, Sinaloa, Mexico. Based on a combination of morphological characteristics, detection using species-specific primers, and phylogenetic analysis employing ITS and coxI sequences, the nematode was identified as Meloidogyne enterolobii ...

Background: Root-knot nematode Meloidogyne enterolobii has emerged as a major constraint to guava (Psidium guajava L.) cultivation in tropical regions, particularly in association with the guava wilt–nematode disease complex. Accurate identification of the nematode species is essential for understanding its distribution and developing effective ...
