Experimental Study of Cold‐Formed Steel Floor Joists under Serviceability Limit State

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 2259-2264, September 2026.
Abstract Cold‐formed steel (CFS) floor joists are increasingly utilised in mid‐rise building construction owing to their high strength‐to‐weight ratio, fabrication efficiency, and ease of installation. These floor joists are typically configured as truss systems with top and bottom chords fabricated from unlipped channels, and diagonal web channels ...

On the Shear Force Capacity of Sinusoidal Corrugated Web Girders

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 2922-2927, September 2026.
Abstract According to EN 1993‐1‐5:2024, the shear resistance of plate girders with flat webs is determined by considering the contribution of both the web and a defined portion of the flanges. However, in the design of corrugated web beams the flange contribution is neglected, leading to a fundamental difference in the assessment of shear capacity.

Web crippling performance of perforated Modular Construction Optimised beams under ITF loading.

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 2380-2385, September 2026.
Abstract The growing use of modular construction has increased demand for lightweight high‐strength cold‐formed steel (CFS) beams capable of carrying concentrated loads efficiently. Modular Construction Optimised (MCO) beams have been developed to meet this need; however, in practice they often incorporate web openings to accommodate services.

Contact Force Distribution Between CLT‐Slab And Steel Beam In Slim‐Floor Construction

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 1171-1176, September 2026.
Abstract In slim‐floor beam–column systems, the distribution of contact forces between cross‐laminated timber (CLT) slabs and steel beams is critical for structural design. Existing guidelines are largely based on concrete floors, although CLT slabs exhibit different structural behavior due to their bidirectional bending stiffness.

Digital geometry capture and stability‐based reuse classification of structural steel

open access: yesce/papers, Volume 9, Issue 2-3, Page 74-79, September 2026.
Abstract This paper presents an integrated visual, geometric, and mechanical assessment framework in which reuse potential is governed by measured geometry. Reclaimed steel profiles from a demolition project were assessed through visual inspection, manual measurement, high‐resolution 3D scanning, and tensile and compression testing.
