Vertical Guided Bone Regeneration With Bioabsorbable Barriers

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, 2007
Background: Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a very useful surgical technique to increase limited alveolar bone for implant placement. The use of non‐resorbable barriers is well established; however, bioabsorbable collagen membranes may simplify the surgical technique and make it more predictable. Methods: Vertical ridge augmentation was performed on ...

Synthesis and characterization of novel scaffold for bone tissue engineering based on Whartons´s jelly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A composite is a material made of more than one component, and the bond between the components is on a scale larger than the atomic scale. The objective of the present study was to synthesize and perform the structural characterization and biological ...

Guided bone regeneration using K-incision technique [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal & Implant Science, 2018
The present study describes 3 patients with chronic periodontitis and consequent vertical resorption of the alveolar ridge who were treated using implant-based restoration with guided bone regeneration (GBR).After extraction of a periodontally compromised tooth, vertical bone augmentation using a K-incision was performed at the healed, low-level ...

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Finding the Perfect Membrane: Current Knowledge on Barrier Membranes in Regenerative Procedures: A Descriptive Review

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Guided tissue regeneration (GTR) and guided bone regeneration (GBR) became common procedures in the corrective phase of periodontal treatment. In order to obtain good quality tissue neo-formation, most techniques require the use of a membrane that will ...

Mechanisms of Guided Bone Regeneration: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesThe Open Dentistry Journal, 2014
Post-extraction crestal bone resorption is common and unavoidable which can lead to significant ridge dimensional changes. To regenerate enough bone for successful implant placement, Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) is often required. GBR is a surgical procedure that uses barrier membranes with or without particulate bone grafts or/and bone substitutes ...
