Guided Image Filtering

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2010
In this paper, we propose a novel explicit image filter called guided filter. Derived from a local linear model, the guided filter computes the filtering output by considering the content of a guidance image, which can be the input image itself or another different image.

A multi-modal image fusion framework based on guided filter and sparse representation

, 2021
To completely integrate the structures of images, a cartoon-texture decomposition based image fusion framework is proposed in this paper. The cartoon components represent the background and main structures information.

Weighted Guided Image Filtering

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2015
It is known that local filtering-based edge preserving smoothing techniques suffer from halo artifacts. In this paper, a weighted guided image filter (WGIF) is introduced by incorporating an edge-aware weighting into an existing guided image filter (GIF) to address the problem.

Balanced Ring Top-Hat Transformation for Infrared Small-Target Detection With Guided Filter Kernel

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2020
Detecting small targets in a complex background is always carried out by suppressing the background. The top-hat transformation is mainly utilized for background suppression in target detection.

Side window guided filtering

Signal Processing, 2019
Abstract This paper presents an improved version of the popular guided filtering (GF) technique. Although very effective, GF can suffer from artifacts such as edge blurring and halos. Through analyzing GF, we discover that traditional filtering practices of placing the center of the filtering window over the pixel being processed is one of the causes

Hyperspectral Pansharpening With Guided Filter

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2017
A new hyperspectral (HS) pansharpening method based on guided filter is proposed in this letter. The proposed method, which obtains the spatial detail difference of each band successively, is different from the traditional component substitution method. The detail information of each band is extracted at first.

Ghost-free multi exposure image fusion technique using dense SIFT descriptor and guided filter

Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 2019
A ghost-free multi-exposure image fusion technique using the dense SIFT descriptor and the guided filter is proposed in this paper. The results suggest that the presented scheme produces high-quality images using ordinary cameras and that too without the

Multichannel guided image filter

2017 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2017
Guided image filter (GIF) is an edge-preserving filtering technique that smooths the fine texture of an input image with the guide of a second image. One shortcoming of GIF and all its existing variants, such as, weighed guided image filter and gradient domain guided image filter, is that they only use one grayscale image as the guide and are ...

An Improved Image Dehazing Technique using CLAHE and Guided Filter

SPIN, 2020
Presence of haze components in the atmosphere, degrade the contrast as well as the true color of the real images. As a result of this, images are difficult to comprehend and to be used in several applications like surveillance, navigation, detection etc.
