Guided 3D point cloud filtering

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2017
3D point cloud has gained significant attention in recent years. However, raw point clouds captured by 3D sensors are unavoidably contaminated with noise resulting in detrimental efforts on the practical applications. Although many widely used point cloud filters such as normal-based bilateral filter, can produce results as expected, they require a ...

Nonpolarizing guided-mode resonance filter

Optics Letters, 2009
A normal-incidence nonpolarizing guided-mode resonance filter is designed. There are two waveguide layers and one grating layer in the filter. By adjusting the distance between the two waveguide layers, the same resonance wavelength for both TE and TM polarization can be achieved.

Multispectral demosaicking using guided filter

SPIE Proceedings, 2012
Multispectral imaging is highly demanded for precise color reproduction and for various computer vision applications. Multispectral imaging with a multispectral color filter array (MCFA), which can be considered as a multispectral extension of commonly used consumer RGB cameras, could be a simple, low-cost, and practical system.

Content adaptive guided image filtering

2014 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME), 2014
Local filtering based edge-preserving smoothing technique could suffer from halo artifacts when it is applied for image enhancement. In this paper, an adaptive guided image filter is proposed by incorporating edge aware weighting which is derived from normalized local variance of a guidance image into an existing guided filter.

Structure-Preserving Guided Image Filtering

2019
Guided filter behaves as a structure-transferring filter which takes advantage of the guidance image. Nevertheless, it is likely to suffer from structure information loss problem and artifacts would be introduced in practical tasks, e.g., detail enhancement. We in this paper propose to deal with the structure loss problem.

Image Registration Guided by Particle Filter

2009
Image Registration is a central task to different applications, such as medical image analysis, stereo computer vision, and optical flow estimation. One way to solve this problem consists in using Bayesian Estimation theory. Under this approach, this work introduces a new alternative, based on Particle Filters, which have been previously used to ...
