Gummy stem blight resistance of cucumbers (Cucumis sativus L.)

Euphytica, 1978
A start was made with breeding for resistance to gummy stem blight in cucumber. A method has been development for screening plants in a young stage. Using this method a distinct level of resistance was found in plants of Leningradsky, Wjarnikovsky,a P.I. entry from Birma, Rheinische Vorgebirge and a P.I.entry from Turkey.

Discovery of (+)-Methyl Nonactate as a Potential Fungicide against Gummy Stem Blight

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry
Gummy stem blight (GSB), which is caused by Stagonosporopsis cucurbitacearum, threatens pumpkin yields and agriculture. Effective, safe antifungal agents are urgently needed. In this study, fermentation broth supernatant of Streptomyces sp. NEAU-T55 demonstrated considerable antifungal activity against S. cucurbitacearum.

New Sources of Resistance to Gummy Stem Blight in Watermelon

Crop Science, 2005
Gummy stem blight, caused by Didymella bryoniae (Auersw.) Rehm, is a major disease of watermelon [Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. & Nakai]. Plant breeders need sources of resistance that can be incorporated into adapted breeding lines to help control the disease.

The emergence of gummy stem blight: A threat to cucurbits in India

Agrica, 2017
Cucurbits production is significantly affected by gummy stem blight caused by fungus Didymella bryoniae across the globe. In India, vine decline has emerged as a serious problem in cucurbits. The fungi survive on seeds, weeds, volunteer cucurbits, and plant debris from previously infected cucurbits. Detection techniques based on PCR DB-F3/DB-R3, GSBF1/
