Tetrahedron, 1968Abstract The heartwood of Calophyllum scriblitifolium Henderson and Wyatt-Smith is shown to contain three new structurally related xanthones. These are 6-(4-hydroxy-3-methylbutanyl)1,5-dihydroxyxanthone, 6-(4-hydroxy-3-methylbut-2-enyl)1,5-dihydroxyxanthone and 6-(3,3-dimethylallyl)1,5-dihydroxyxanthone.

The structures were determined by interconversions and spectrometric methods.
