In vitro gynogenesis in red beet (Beta vulgaris L.): effects of ovule culture conditions

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2014
In this paper the influence of factors affecting gynogenic response of red beet ovules is discussed. The ovule response frequencies were the highest in the following conditions: N6 (Chu 1975) mineral salts, 0.5 mg/l IAA, 0.2 mg/l BA, 27 or 32oC.

Evaluation of Growth and Immunological Indices of Allfemale Caspian salmon Salmo trutta caspius Induced by Gamma Irradiation

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2022
20 pieces of all-female (produces by using Gynogenesis process via gamma irradiation) Caspian salmon (Salmo trutta caspius) with dosage of 450, 600, 750, 900 and 1050 Gy by gamma irradiation (Co60) with average weight of 2.31 ± 0.22 in a randomized ...

Gene Expression and Antioxidant Characteristics of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Eggs Used for Meiotic Gynogenesis

open access: yesFishes
Gynogenesis is a reproductive mode where offspring inherit exclusively maternal chromosomes. Gynogenetic development in fish may be induced intentionally by activating eggs with the UV-irradiated, inactive spermatozoa.

Transcriptomic Analysis Reveals Functional Interaction of mRNA–lncRNA–miRNA in Steroidogenesis and Spermatogenesis of Gynogenetic Japanese Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus)

open access: yesBiology, 2022
Teleost fishes exhibit extraordinary diversity, plasticity and adaptability with their sex determination and sexual development, and there is growing evidence that non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) are emerging as critical regulators of reproduction.

Studies on Gynogenesis Induction in Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) Unpollinated Ovule Culture

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is an important crop for subsistence farming in tropical and subtropical regions. There is a need to increase the rate of genetic gain to develop varieties adapted to new environmental conditions affected by climate ...

Effect of colchicine and amiprophos-methyl on the production of in vitro doubled haploid onion plants and correlation assessment between ploidy level and stomatal size

open access: yesRevista de la Facultad de Ciencias Agrarias, 2022
Doubled haploid onion (Allium cepa L.) plants allow the production of completely homozygous lines for a later production of hybrids. The haploid plants are normally produced using in vitro gynogenesis. The obtained haploid plantlets must be treated with

Evaluation of genetic stability of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L.) plants obtained from unfertilized ovules using RAPD markers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2019
In order to improve the methods of embryo regeneration applied so far in in vitro cultures, a two-phased, innovative method was used. It involved using a liquid and solid media.
