A quaternion-based attitude unscented Kalman filter is formulated with quaternion errors parameterized by small angle approximations and is applied to a filter with a state vector consisting of the attitude quaternion and the gyro bias vector. The filter

Absolute rotation detection by Coriolis force measurement using optomechanics
In this article, we present an application of the optomechanical cavities for absolute rotation detection. Two optomechanical cavities, one in each arm, are placed in a Michelson interferometer.

ABSTRACT We present a hybrid interpretable Physics‐Informed Neural Network Long‐Short Term Memory (Hybrid PINN LSTM) framework for predicting the seismic response of rocking blocks. Existing analytical models rely on uncertain idealizations, while purely data‐driven and machine‐learning approaches lack physical consistency and interpretability.

Microelectromechanical system (MEMS)-based gyroscopes have been widely applied to various inertial-sensing-based human-computer interaction (HCI) devices. However, the random drift of MEMS-based gyroscopes limits their applications.

Similar locomotor patterns across Quarter Horse disciplines inform lameness assessment
Abstract Background Lineage‐based selection is central to the Quarter Horse industry and is often justified by the assumption that morphology determines locomotor function. However, objective evidence linking static conformation to discipline‐specific locomotor behaviour under standardised conditions remains limited.

Gaussian Curvature and Gyroscopes [PDF]
We relate Gaussian curvature to the gyroscopic force, thus giving a mechanical interpretation of the former and a geometrical interpretation of the latter. We do so by considering the motion of a spinning disk constrained to be tangent to a curved surface.
