The Relationship of Exohiss Waves With Plasmaspheric Hiss Distribution and Solar Wind Parameters

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2023
Exohiss waves below 0.1 electron cyclotron frequency (fce) are structureless whistler‐mode emissions typically observed in the plasmatrough. Plasmaspheric hiss may possibly propagate from the plasmasphere into the plasmatrough and evolve into exohiss ...

Tandem-biocatalysis reactors constructed by topological evolution of CaCO3 particles into hollow metal hydroxide spheres

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Despite remarkable advances in the design and synthesis of hollow inorganic spheres (HISs), the harsh synthetic conditions have precluded the applications of HISs to biochemical and biological fields.

Nonlinear wave growth theory of whistler-mode chorus and hiss emissions in the magnetosphere

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2021
Nonlinear processes associated with the generation process of whistler-mode chorus emissions are summarized. The nonlinear dynamics of energetic electrons interacting with a coherent whistler-mode wave and the formation of electromagnetic electron holes ...

Patient reported outcome measure‐haemorrhoidal impact and satisfaction score (PROM‐HISS): Development, reliability and construct validity

open access: yesColorectal Disease, 2022
Haemorrhoidal disease (HD) is a frequently occurring disorder with a significant negative impact on a patient's quality of life. Here, we describe the development and validation of the Dutch patient reported outcome measure‐haemorrhoidal impact and ...

Nightside Plasmaspheric Plume‐To‐Core Migration of Whistler‐Mode Hiss Waves

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
Whistler‐mode hiss waves play an important role in the radiation belt electron depletion. Whether the hiss waves with significant differences in amplitude and propagation direction within the plasmaspheric core and plume are related to each other remains

Prediction of plasmaspheric hiss spectral classes

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
We present a random forests machine learning model for prediction of plasmaspheric hiss spectral classes from the Van Allen Probes dataset. The random forests model provides accurate prediction of plasmaspheric hiss spectral classes obtained by the self ...

Van Allen Probes observation of plasmaspheric hiss modulated by injected energetic electrons [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2018
Plasmaspheric hiss was observed by Van Allen Probe B in association with energetic electron injections in the outer plasmasphere. The energy of injected electrons coincides with the minimum resonant energy calculated for the observed hiss wave ...

Low Frequency Plasmaspheric Hiss Wave Activity Parameterized by Plasmapause Location: Models and Simulations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2022
Plasmaspheric hiss waves are a dominant source of scattering for keV‐MeV radiation belt electrons within the plasmasphere. Previous simulation and modeling work concerning hiss waves has often incorporated them via particle‐based parameterizations (e.g.,

Randomized preclinical study of machine perfusion in vascularized composite allografts

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), EarlyView., 2020
This study was designed to identify the optimum machine perfusion parameters for preservation of limbs before transplantation, and determine whether this was better than cold storage. Normothermic machine perfusion at a pressure of 70 mmHg (NMP‐70) provided superior preservation to cold storage after transplantation.

State of the practice of health information systems: a survey study amongst health care professionals in intellectual disability care

open access: yesBMC Health Services Research, 2021
Background Care for people with an Intellectual Disability (ID) is complex: multiple health care professionals are involved and use different Health Information Systems (HISs) to store medical and daily care information on the same individuals.
