Sensor Systems for Vehicle Environment Perception in a Highway Intelligent Space System
A Highway Intelligent Space System (HISS) is proposed to study vehicle environment perception in this paper. The nature of HISS is that a space sensors system using laser, ultrasonic or radar sensors are installed in a highway environment and ...

Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Challenges in Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles
ABSTRACT This paper presents a state‐of‐the‐art literature review on noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) in hydrogen‐fuelled internal combustion engines. Studies published between 2011 and 2025 were screened, covering fundamental flame physics, test‐bench work, and recent prototype vehicles.

ABSTRACT Fungal pathogens pose a growing threat to vertebrate biodiversity. In snakes, Ophidiomyces ophidiicola (Oo) has garnered particular concern, although its impact in Europe remains poorly understood. We conducted a season‐long, standardized survey of dice snakes (Natrix tessellata) along the northern shore of Lake Como (Italy) to quantify Oo and

Healing Beams: Radiation and Radiotherapy in Novels, Poems, Music, Film, Painting
Radiation and radiotherapy are perceived by patients and the general public as mysterious, dangerous and healing. The image of radiation and radiotherapy can be analysed by studying novels, poems, music, film and painting. Our paper reviews how radiation and radiotherapy are perceived by patients, the general public, as reflected in various art genres.

This review highlights the characteristic odor markers of illicit drugs, emphasizing volatile markers from both natural and synthetic sources, and explores the shift from canine‐based detection to emerging noncontact sensing technologies. Illicit drug use remains a global concern, requiring effective detection methods to counter evolving concealment ...

Loanwords and Linguistic Phylogenetics: *pelek̑u‐ ‘axe’ and *(H)a(i̯)g̑‐ ‘goat’1
Abstract This paper assesses the role of borrowings in two different approaches to linguistic phylogenetics: Traditional qualitative analyses of lexemes, and quantitative computational analysis of cognacy. It problematises the assumption that loanwords can be excluded altogether from datasets of lexical cognacy.

Policy Points Ultraprocessed foods (UPFs) are engineered to heighten reward and accelerate delivery of reinforcing ingredients, driving compulsive consumption and disrupting appetite regulation. This is a growing challenge for health policy. UPFs share key engineering strategies adopted from the tobacco industry, such as dose optimization and hedonic ...

Dependence of Plasmaspheric Hiss Power on ωpe/Ωce
Plasmaspheric hiss waves play a key role in scattering energetic electrons and are often modeled in the inner magnetosphere using empirical hiss power maps parameterized by L shell.
